Terms of Service
Last updated 29 September 2026
These terms apply to your use of Lintel, including the VOSign client approval portal (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or starting a trial, you agree to them on behalf of yourself and the business you represent (“you”).
1. Who we are
Lintel is a trading name of Sam Pike, a sole trader. Our business address is 27a Llandaff Road, Cardiff, CF11 9NF. In these terms, “Lintel”, “we” and “us” mean Sam Pike trading as Lintel. You can contact us at support@lintel.uk.
The Service is intended for businesses. It is not offered to consumers.
2. Your account
You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account, including activity by anyone you give access to.
3. Free trial
New subscriptions start with a 30-day free trial. A payment card is required to start the trial. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts automatically and your card is charged for the plan you selected.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance, at the price shown on our pricing page when you subscribe. Prices are in pounds sterling. We may offer annual billing in future; if we do, these terms will be updated to cover it.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store your full card details. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
We may change our prices by giving you at least 30 days' notice by email. A price change takes effect from the start of your next billing period after the notice ends.
Founding member rate. If you subscribed at the founding member rate of £299 per month, that rate is fixed for as long as your subscription stays active, including features we add later. If you cancel, the founding rate isn't held for you if you resubscribe.
If a payment fails, we'll let you know and may suspend access to the Service until it is resolved.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel at any time from the Billing page in your dashboard. If you cancel during your free trial, you won't be charged. If you cancel a paid subscription, it stays active until the end of the current billing period and won't renew. We don't refund partial billing periods.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously breach these terms, or if you don't pay. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
6. Your data
You own the data you put into Lintel: your projects, variation orders, rate cards, photos, drawings, instructions, time logs and client approval records (“Your Data”). We claim no ownership of it.
You give us permission to store, process and display Your Data only as needed to provide and support the Service. That includes sending approval requests and reminders to the clients you choose. We won't sell Your Data or use it for any other purpose.
You can export your variation orders at any time as PDF schedules and CSV files. After your subscription ends, we keep Your Data for 90 days so you can export it, then delete it, except where we need to keep something to meet a legal obligation.
You're responsible for having the right to upload Your Data, including your clients' names and email addresses. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
7. Client approvals
VOSign records who approved or rejected a variation, their email address and the time. It gives you a clear, timestamped record, but Lintel isn't a party to your contract with your client. We don't guarantee that a particular approval will be treated as binding in any dispute; that depends on your contract and the circumstances. Take your own advice where it matters.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent or misleading, including creating false variation or approval records;
- send approval requests or reminders to people who have no connection with your project;
- upload anything that infringes someone else's rights, or that contains malware;
- try to access other companies' data, or probe, disrupt or overload the Service;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep Lintel available and reliable, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or improve features. If we remove something that materially reduces the Service you're paying for, we'll tell you in advance.
10. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
Otherwise, we aren't liable for any loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss. That includes the value of a variation that is disputed, unpaid or not recovered.
Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the new terms. If you don't agree, you can cancel before they apply.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
